You are kitted up in a climbing harness complete with a set of “crab claws” which are the climbing clips one uses on a via feratta. The clips are magnetically operated, closing and releasing when brought into contact with the magnets on the safety cables. You can only release one clip at a time making the system really safe. This is all explained to you by your guide in the training area on the short training route.
From there it is a short walk to the start of your route. For the next hour, we were hanging on cables, balancing on walkways and sliding down zip lines high up in the pine trees.
We completed the Blue Route which was more than enough exertion for a morning in the treetops!
