Stilbaai is a gorgeous little sea-side holiday spot on the coast at the mouth of the Goukou River on the Southern Cape coast. It seems to have retained its character, and does not suffer the glitz and glam of the larger resort towns like Plettenberg Bay and  Knysna.
Getting there: Turn off the N2 between Riversdale and Albertinia and head 26km down the R305.
My first visit to Stilbaai was to take part in the Stilbaai Triathlon, and we enjoyed a weekend of sport and camping. I have since returned to explore the area some more and enjoy what this little seaside resort has to offer. The town lies on the banks of the Goukou River which reaches the coast after journeying from Riversdale.
Where to stay
We camped at the Ellensrust Campsite which is on the eastern side of the Goukou River.
