Brenton-on-Sea is a seaside suburb of Knysna, found between Knysna and Buffalo Bay. It can be reached by taking the turnoff where the N2 reaches the western end of the White Bridge when leaving Knysna in the direction of Sedgefield.
The golden sands of the beach, stretching to Buffalo Bay in the hazy distance, are perfect for lazing about in the sun. However, the ocean is treacherous, with rip currents around Castle Rock. There are ablution blocks and showers.
There is a small shop and a restaurant, On Brenton Local Eatery, on CR Swart Road (the main road to the hotel and beach), as well as a smart restaurant and bar, Butterfly Blu, as well as Indigo Deli, at the Brenton Haven Hotel.

- Walk to Buffalo Bay along the beach (and back!)
