We have yet to stay here, but on one of our visits to hike the nearby trails we had a good scout around the Diepwalle Forest Timber Camping Decks.

Set in a landscape of beautiful beaches and rocky headlands, shimmering lakes, green pastures and jagged mountains, the Knysna Forest Camping Decks at Diepwalle affords the visitor an opportunity to feel at one with nature.
The decks are situated in the Diepwalle Forest area and offer one of the only easily accessible opportunities to sleep over and enjoy camping in the Knysna Forest itself. The decks accommodate a three-man tent with braai and dining areas and have electric points. Tents and mattresses are available at an extra charge.
There are ten wooden decks set in the forest, each deck has a breakfast nook and a Jetmaster fireplace. The camping sites have their own ablution facilities across the road which include toilets and showers. A scullery area to wash up is available at the back of this building. Water points are set between decks. In front of the camping decks are picnic tables and braai areas. Situated near the office where one can enjoy some of the day walks, Petrus Brand cycle route, picnic sites and scenic viewpoints. Also situated nearby is the tea garden where someone else can prepare the meals, they also provide salads and homemade bread.
General Information:
- The decks accommodate a three-man tent with braai and dining areas and have electric points.
- The campsite is not suitable for motorhomes, roof-top tents or caravans. It is only appropriate for tents to be pitched on the timber decks
There are a limited number of decks and each is secluded, leaving you feeling like you are deep in the forest and far away from civilisation.
