Swimmer turned triathlete, Robyn Williams will have her eye on the prize on Sunday, 27 October 2013 when she takes on the Slanghoek Triathlon presented by Vital Health Foods.

Williams has signed up for the Long MTB Triathlon.  “I only used to take part in road events, but after recently starting mountain biking I am absolutely loving the off-road stuff,” says Williams.  “There’s not much about a40km bike TT that excites me lately.  I would rather be getting dirty on my mountain bike.  This will be the first time that I take part in the Slanghoek Triathlon, but from what I hear it is a fantastic event that is very picturesque.  I expect the run to be the toughest part of the event.  A 10km off-road run is always tougher than a road run and it will be made harder having to deal with the fatigue from the swim and bike legs.  I am really looking forward to a day outdoors doing what I love followed by some time spent with like-minded people after the race. You also can’t beat that feeling of satisfaction that comes from completing a race.  I have had a bit of a rough start to the season having struggled with illness and not being able to train for three weeks. So by the time Slanghoek comes around I hope to be fighting fit and able to put a good race together”.
