This easy stroll takes you to the impressive Waenhuiskrans Cave. The cave can only be reached at low tide.
Getting there: as you enter Arniston there is a signpost directing you to the cave. Take this right turn and follow the road to where it ends in the parking lot at the beach. You will see CapeNature signboards for the Waenhuiskrans Nature Reserve.
Follow the signs which will lead you down a set of stone stairs to the water’s edge. The cave is only accessible at low tide, and even then you will need to get your feet wet to get to the entrance of the caves.
The cave that you first enter is just the “lobby”: the main cavern is reached through a smallish hole at the back.
