CAPESTORM Red Hill 36.2 & 42.2km 2013

Fish Hoek AC logo

I bravely ran the 2012 Red Hill Marathon the weekend after Totalsports Terra Firma, and came apart after the Red Hill climb and descent! At that stage my theory was that if I was to be doing IronMan, running a quick marathon should be a regular occurrence. Clearly lack of recovery got the better of me! The sections along the coast are stunningly beautiful as well as very runnable — the slightly boring Cape Point-direction out-and-back leg and the challenging Red Hill adding some teeth to the course. CAPESTORM A3 Shorts

CAPESTORM A3 Shorts

The material and the liner feel even lighter and more comfortable than that of the Kinetic if that is even possible! In the Hi-Tec Otter African Trail Run 2010 only the hem of my shorts got wet at the Bloukrans crossing. At this years race I was chest deep, so the A3 shorts got a good swim, and unlike the Kinetic shorts which chaffed a fair amount, there was no chaffing at all from the A3′s, and they remained extremely comfortable, and dried rapidly. CAPESTORM Monsoon Jacket

CAPESTORM Jacket

I invested in a fully waterproof, breathable CAPESTORM Monsoon Jacket for the notoriously wet Cape Town winter. So far it has been great in some pretty miserable, wet windy weather. As the future of the CAPESTORM brand is currently uncertain, if I were looking for a jacket to replace this one, my money would be on the very sexy looking first Ascent Summit Jacket. In fact I am desperately trying to justify buying one regardless… [...]

CAPESTORM presents The Great Run

CAPESTORM logo

I like to attend all the CAPESTORM presentations: I like to know that there are people out there waaaaaaay crazier than I am! “The Great Run” is a presentation by adventurer Braam Malherbe who ran the main, intact section of the Great Wall of China with a partner: 4500km end to end! [...]
