Of all the events I have blogged about, this one has proved the most difficult! Even the name changed 2 days before the event! The Knysna Lagoon Mile Open-water swim, a.k.a. The Dragon Mile Swim is on 05 July 2013. It fits in nicely with sporting events happening in Knysna over the Festival week making up the Big 5 Challenge. I suspect this might be a chilly little outing!
Join the Knysna Dragons Lagoon Mile Swim: a one-mile swim in open-water during still time of the tide by all competitors. The start and finish will be at the Cruise Café and the route will follow to the Waterfront entrance, the circle inside the waterway of the residential area, back out by the harbour entrance and back to the Cruise Café. The distance is one nautical mile (or 1.8km for land-lubbers) and open to all categories. NSRI will supervise safety and Knysna Canoe club the marshalling.
Medals and cash prizes. Hot Chocolate for all at the finish.
Entrance fee: persons younger than 10yrs: R80, and persons older than 10yr: R100. Registration is at 08h00 at Cruise Café.
