Gydo Pass

The Gydo Pass leads north from Ceres to the Cederberg and is on the R303 between Prince Alfred Hamlet in the south and Op die Berg in the north.

Please note that when heading north on a trip your last reliable source of fuel is Prince Alfred Hamlet as the only place selling fuel in Op die Berg is the Agri and their hours are somewhat limited. We learnt this the hard way one lunchtime on our way to the Tankwa Karoo via Katbakkies Pass — we had to go all the way back down the Pass to Prince Alfred Hamlet to fill up.
