East Head Café

East Head Café is an amazing restaurant with possibly the perfect views of The Knysna Heads. Great food and great service add up to a first-class experience.

Getting there: from Knysna, heading toward Plettenberg Bay on the N2, turn right onto George Rex Drive and follow the road to the parking lot at the Knysna Heads.

On our first visit, we had a late breakfast in the outside section. I was dressed a bit lightly, and the cool sea air was a bit fresh, but this was taken care of by our waitress who provided a blanket and hot-water bottle! Service was brilliant, the food was beautifully presented and truly delicious; little touches such as a freshly baked biscotti with your coffee will leave you deeply satisfied.

I had the most divine Huevos Rancheros (eggs sunny side up in a mild chilli tomato-bean sauce on a tortilla) [R52], Leanne had scrumptious Camembert French Toast with preserved fig and syrup [R58], and an equally delicious Farmer’s Omelette [59] and Café Breakfast [R56] were ordered at the table. Our café lattés [R22] were delicious and served with decadent chocolate biscotti. Tea [R14] and Fresh Orange [R17] finished off a breakfast fit for a king.

We have since made numerous return visits, most recently for a delicious lunch!
