The truly unpredictable Cape Town December weather did not play too much of a role in the past month’s activities, with the sun pretty much coming to the party each time!

I have posted a few more articles about the muggings on Table Mountain. It’s a top priority that we all remain informed and spread the word in the hopes that we can all personally avoid being involved in any of this unpleasantness, and that the authorities will commit to tackling this problem head-on.
I have continued to post as many Gear Reviews as possible. All of the gear review posts deal with gear I have purchased (no sponsorship, unfortunately), and I have made an effort to price all articles at as many stores as possible and keep these prices updated on the site.
Hiking
Finally: a weekend mission to the Cederberg! Included was the discovery of the beautiful farm Driehoek, a day hike up to the Wolfberg Cracks and Arch, and a two-day overnight hike from Driehoek up to Crystal Pools and around Sneeukop.
We also made a weekend trip up to the Matroosberg Private Nature Reserve. The goal of the trip was a cherry-picking mission at Klondyke Cherry Farm, but we also hiked up to Matroosberg Peak, did some trail running, and swam in some unbelievable rock pools!
Trail running
Tokai Manor House 16km on Boxing Day saw a fantastic turn-out. The run starts at the sports field at the Tokai Manor House and loops up into the Tokai Arboretum giving participants more than enough hills to work off the Christmas excess!
Triathlon
I finally bought a road bike, and have started getting used to riding on the road again; it’s been more than 20 years! Swim training has commenced at various Virgin Active Gyms, and Silvermine Reservoir provides a great venue for open water training.
