The local triathlon calendar is not only very sparse, but it is not well advertised either. I am really battling to find the info I need to plan and prepare. The Clanwilliam Triathlon is one of the races that I have heard much about, yet there is no up-to-date information for 2012′s event. [...]  The inaugural Durbanville Triathlon took place at Phisantekraal in Durbanville. I woke up early on the Saturday morning to a dark, rainy Newlands. I had promised myself I would bunk if it was going to be wet and cold, but then couldn’t seem to prevent myself from going “just in case it cleared”. It was great to share a day of racing with friends again, and despite a tiny field, the race organisers presented a superb event on a well-marked, fun course! I took part as the runner in a team, but just like the TotalSPORTS Challenge, I dreamed of returning as an individual entry.
