Press Release: ProNutro AfricanX Trail Run Stage 2 – Route Announced

According to Hendrico Burger, Route Designer, this will be the first time in the history of the ProNutro AfricanX Trailrun that a stage features so much single trails. “Stage Two will be a stage for real runners. In addition to the copious amount of single trails, runners will also need to contend with tough terrain that features a lot of loose surfaces, ups and downs and very little level running. The route won’t, however, be too technical for fit runners,” says Burger.

Cape Town trail running groups

As spoilt as we are, living with Table Mountain on our doorstep, it is unsafe to venture on the mountain alone, and many trail runners (especially the ladies) are prevented from enjoying the endless kilometers of world-class trail on offer. Fortunately the trail running community has grown in leaps and bounds in the last few years. Not only do we have a fledgeling trail running association in the Western Cape, but we have a number of active trail running groups providing the opportunity for anyone who is moderately fit to join an organised run.

Western Province Trail Running Association constituted

A steering committee has been busy preparing for the constitution of a trail running association for the Western Cape. This evening a meeting was held at the New Balance Multisport Club in Durbanville. The main point of business for the evening was to finalise and adopt the constitution, as well as accept founding members. I am pleased to say I am one!
