The BSG events seem to be mainly up-country events. The series does however include a Western Cape event. I enjoyed the shorter distance at Slanghoek, so am looking forward to a short distance triathlon on the road.

Getting there: take the N1 from Cape Town. Turn right and drive through Rawsonville, turn right at the T-junction, heading towards Worcester. After about 5km you will see the Brandvlei Correctional Services sign. (Google Maps)

Rather disappointing and frustrating to note that less than a month before the date the website still does not supply the details (Course Map, Race Day Information) for the event. This makes it difficult to plan.
I somehow had the impression that entries were far more expensive than they actually are. Individual entry is R350.00 and gets you a New Balance lightning Dry T-shirt (retail price = R250), a Goody Bag with a swimming cap, water bottle and more (worth over R100), includes your temp licence, and includes a donation. Good value!
