Poolside at the Arabella Hotel & Spa

More crime in Table Mountain National Park — more finger-pointing from the various authorities — continued lack of communication to the public: 1 raped Norwegian female student. Bravo SANParks / SAP / Minister of Defence unlike you who who point fingers at each other I am pointing my finger at all of you!

Garmin Connect shows that I have completed loads of training as I prepare for Knysna Big 5 Challenge and then PUFfeR.

Open-water Swimming

I took part in the Langebaan Lagoon Crossing which was lots of fun and meant spending some time training in the pool at the gym.

After the Langebaan Lagoon Crossing, we spent some time in the West Coast National Park and walked to the shipwreck on 16 Mile Beach.

We had a pretty scary experience when we tried to hike the Hiddingh—Ascension Route on Table Mountain. More about this soon.

I went K1 testing at Sandvlei with The Paddling Centre. I joined CCCC and headed across from work for a couple of their Tuesday time trials.

It was seriously exciting to follow friends on their IronMan South Africa journeys! I am amped for 2014!

Trail running

With my entry for PUFfeR having been accepted, it was time to step up the mileage and return to the trails. I had been keeping the legs ticking over with regular flat 5km road runs which I am not extending. I have also started running with the Celtics Thursday Trail group again for motivation and great company.

We were treated to a complimentary weekend at the Arabella Hotel & Spa which included the two-day Arabella MTB Challenge.
